JOE MANHART has been a California licensed hearing aid despenser since 1992 and was board certified in hearing instrument sciences (BC/HIS) in 1997. He has been a member of the International Hearing Society since 1992 and the Hearing Healthcare Providers of California since 1996. Joe is a member of the Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert, California Chambers of Commerce, and was selected as Business Man of the Year for 2003-2004.

Joe is a past president (1994-1995) and district chairman of the Speech and Hearing Action Committee (1995-1997) of the International Lions Club. Currently he is on the board of directors of the Rancho Mirage Rotary Club. He has been on the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association, Sun City Chamber of Commerce, and other Community oriented groups. He has been president and secretary of a condominium owners group and is a member of the Air Force Association.

His hobbies include golf, photography and travel. He and his wife currently own and operate Advanced Hearing Systems in Rancho Mirage, California.

Together with his wife Pat, they participated in missions to fit underprivileged children around the world. They have assisted fitting children in Ecuador, Brazil, Puerto Rico, El Salvador, and Anaheim, California.


PAT MANHART has been a licensed hearing aid dispenser since 1959. She has owned and operated hearing aid businesses in Illinois and California, and currently, with her husband Joe, owns and operates Advanced Hearing Systems in Rancho Mirage, California. Advanced Hearing Systems is the largest state-of-the-art office in the Coachella Valley. She is board certified in hearing instrument sciences by the International Hearing Society.

Pat has been active in her community and her profession. She was vice president of the California Hearing Aid Association for two years, and president of District 6 of the same organization for another two years. She has been on the board of directors of the American Heart Association and is a member of the Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert Chambers of Commerce. Pat was a co-founder of a hearing aid license prep class at Cerritos Junior College, Norwalk, California. She is a member of the National Association of Female Executives. Memberships also include the International Hearing Society and the Hearing Healthcare Providers of California (both over 30 years).

Joe and Pat received the William F. Austin Humanitarian Award for 2004. Their office was awarded Audibel's Gold Standard Award in 2004. Advanced Hearing was voted Best Small Business of the Year in 2006. Joe was Businesman of the Year in 2003 and Pat and Joe have been recognized as Distinguished Citizens of 2007 by the Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce.
